Leandra Square. Yesterday morning I had breakfast (cappuccino and croissant) in Civitavecchia, Leandra square, the oldest square in the city where, in the middle, there is a medieval fountain. It is fascinating to see the swallows flying over the roofs and the pigeons drinking in the fountain.
Lesson learned. My cat understood that instead of lying in the sun, where he runs out of energy, it's better to find a place in the shade or in the wet grass.
Running update. The heat wave does not subside and the humidity is always around 80%. Even if I start at 06:00 a.m. running in such conditions is really tough. Anyway last week I did 3 workouts:
Tuesday: 10 km;
Thursday: 10.7 km;
Saturday: 10.7 km.
At the moment no plans regarding the races. I look forward to cooler temperatures.
Heat+humidity+age+permanent injuries (my right shoulder) recommend being careful and not to push.
Any lesson learned?
That cat is so flexible! The seagul graffiti is most deadly I have ever seen. You are a fit runner.
ReplyDeleteWe live by the sea, so there are many seagulls.
DeleteThank you now I am an .... old runner.
Time for a car wash! A very thorough car wash! Hope the heat breaks soon. The whole world is starting to fry!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how the owners of the car felt after looking at their cars in such conditions.
DeleteHere forecasts say another week of heat.
Well done on running in that unbearable heat!
ReplyDeleteIt's strange, we have quite cool weather here in Switzerland with loads of rain and a few storms. I wish I could send you some cooler weather!
Today I had to skip the workout for the terrible heat and humidity.
DeleteYes please, send us cooler weather and rain. I love to run in summer under the rain.
I don't know how you run in that heat! I just returned from Alabama and it was just stifling.
ReplyDeleteWhen we go to our lake house, the birds just love to hit my car with their waste! I guess they don't like me parking under their tree, lol
Difficult to run in such heat. Today I skipped the workout: too hot and humid!
DeleteI see you have learned the lesson about the right place to park your car.
Clever cat. But ewww on the cars!
ReplyDeletePlease send some of the heat over... Only 22C over here...
I am sorry but I don't succeed in sending a bit of heat to you.
DeleteI will try again, I promise.
Kudos to you for running in that heat and humidity (just be careful out there).
ReplyDeleteUgh, those poor people who returned to their cars looking like that. What a mess to clean up!
I am very careful in this period, I take it easy and no problem if I have to skip a workout.
DeleteFor sure they will not park again in those places.
the cat is lovely critter....
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing interesting videos
Thank you. That cat is my favorite and I spoil him.
DeleteI see....
DeleteHave a great day
That is one smart cat and one not so smart person who parked his car in the wrong place. If the car doesn't ger washed soon with all the heat, it will be tough to remove all those bird droppings. Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteFor sure my cat doesn't rest under a tree or a roof with birds! Smarter than the owners of the cars.
DeleteI was glad to see they weren’t your cars! Cats are smarter than we give them credit for.
ReplyDeleteThey weren't my cars but we are at risk because the buildings around here are full of seagulls. This is a city on the sea.
DeleteHa your cat is very smart! Those poor cars! It sure has been super hot. We have not run this at all on our trip but we are supposed to do a run tour in Florence. Not sure how that will be!
ReplyDeleteI know that Florence is hotter than Rome. If you want to do a run tour I suggest to start at 06:00 a.m. This morning I ran at 05:50 a.m. and it was a torture: 31° C and 79% humidity. After 8 km I stopped my workout.
DeleteEspero que estés bien. Tu gato es bello e inteligente. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Despite the heat I .... survive.
DeleteMy cat says "Hi" to you.
The cat worked out the hot weather, but they do like lying in the sun.
ReplyDeleteWow, those cars, what a mess - we never park our car underneath a tree or wires if possible.
You are doing well with your running in the heat but early morning - you must drink a lot during that time to keep yourself hydrated.
Thank you. On this days it's hard also in early morning. Today I ran at 05:50 a.m. but it was a bad experience.
DeleteThank you for the tip, yes I drink a lot.
Oh wow...those poor cars! What a mess! The heat does make it tough to get outside and move the way we want to. Noting wrong in following the cat's example and staying out of the sun ;-)
ReplyDeleteYes, every activity is difficult with this heat.
DeleteOften the animals are wiser than us.
Such a cute cat living life by just chillin out! A lesson I learned was not to push it when your body is screaming at you to stop! Good job on getting those three runs in!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI learned that lesson too late.
Animals are so smart! Our dog suns himself indoors in the comfort of air conditioning Haha! That poor car is a mess. I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to race in the heat. You got some nice miles anyway!
ReplyDeleteYour dog is very smart!
DeleteThis week I will run less: less workouts. less miles, slower pace. Too hot again! Waiting for better times.

ReplyDeleteCheers
I am sure they will not park there anymore!
DeleteAll the best.
How brave of you to run in that heat!
ReplyDeleteThose cars will be a challenge to clean!
Love the cute kitty.
Blessings, Stefano
Indeed not so brave because I took it VERY easy!
DeleteMy cat says "Hi" to you.
Neat videos of the pigeons and swallows. Wow, those cars are a mess. Your kitty is adorable. You are brave to run in the hot weather. Take care, have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Now we are not anymore under "meteo alert", it's always hot but less humid.
DeleteUnfortunately the swallows are gone. They have migrated.
