Why Black Knight

The name Black Knight comes from this famous joke in roman slang. A man tells this story:
The Black Knight and the White Knight make a duel and the Black Knight kills the White Knight. Now the White Knight had 3 sons, they challenge the Black Knight to a duel and the Black Knight kills all of them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 9 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills of all them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 27 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills all of them.
Please stop the story, what do you mean, what is the moral?
The moral is: "Don't piss off the Black Knight"!!!!!!!!!

One day in Tuscia

One Day in Tuscia - On January 2nd my wife and I spent one day in Tuscia (Viterbo province) and we visited 2 beautiful ancient towns: Soriano nel Cimino and Capodimonte.

In the morning we visited Soriano nel Cimino, a town that develops in height on the slopes of the Cimini mountains, where we bought the typical “ciambellette”, a delicious local treat.

Later we went to Capodimonte, where we arrived at 07:00 p.m., to see the Christmas lights: we were surprised to see the town completely deserted; as you can see from the photos we didn't meet a single person on the streets. I must admit that I was fascinated anyway by that unreal atmosphere brightened by the lights.

Injury update - I'm slowing healing. I miss running, but I've been walking about 1 hour a day, covering more than 5 km each time. Tomorrow I will get the x-ray control and then the doctor will decide if and when I can start to run again.

Do you like to visit ancient towns?

Which was the last hamlet you visited?

Have a good week ahead

  2. Those Christmas lights are so beautiful. Interesting that you were the only people out there! But nice to have it all to yourselves to enjoy.

Good luck at the doctor tomorrow! i hope you get good news.

    1. We were the only people, I think, for 2 reasons: the town has only 1600 residents and the night was very cold and windy.
About the doctor no news until Friday.

If we had towns before the 1800's I would love to visit them...I do like visiting the ones we have though.

Capodimonte looks amazing, especially with deserted streets. I seem to remember the name, you've been there before, right?
Are the ciambellette like bread or sweet like cake?

    1. Yes, I often go to Capodimonte by the Bolsena lake.
The ciambellette are like bread with wine and anise.

  12. Capodimonte looks magical with the lights and no people! Our ancient town and hamlets are nothing like yours, ours are surrounded by mountains or forests or are in wide open prairie areas.

Best wishes for positive words from your Doctor!

I loved the old cities of Tuscany and I am sad I don´t speak Italian, or am I? I love Adriano Celentano, but if I understood I probably wouldn´t like what I hear... And those political songs... there is deepl :-)

    1. You don't need to speak Italian to visit Tuscany and Tuscia.
Celentano is a good singer but he is not among my favorite.
I prefer the old groups like Le Orme and Nomadi and the current singers Zucchero and Vasco Rossi.

The town was deserted because it has only 1600 residents, the nights are very cold and all the (few) shops and restaurants were closed.

  30. Exploring Soriano nel Cimino in the morning and snagging some "ciambellette" sounds like a delightful start to your day! It's interesting how Capodimonte was deserted when you arrived, but the Christmas lights created a magical, almost surreal atmosphere. Sometimes unexpected moments like these make for the most memorable experiences. Read my new blog post at the end.
