Why Black Knight

The name Black Knight comes from this famous joke in roman slang. A man tells this story:
The Black Knight and the White Knight make a duel and the Black Knight kills the White Knight. Now the White Knight had 3 sons, they challenge the Black Knight to a duel and the Black Knight kills all of them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 9 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills of all them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 27 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills all of them.
Please stop the story, what do you mean, what is the moral?
The moral is: "Don't piss off the Black Knight"!!!!!!!!!

Broken - Happy New Year

Broken - After 2 weeks of absence I am back to “blogland”. Why this silence? On the morning of Dec. 19th I went out with a friend for a morning run and, after 9 km at normal pace, I decided to run other 3 km at race pace. Unfortunately, at the 11th km, I tripped over an uneven sidewalk and I fell breaking a rip, cracking my eyebrow and injuring my knee. I was taken by the ambulance to the emergency room where they kept me under observation for one day. At the moment the prognosis is 20 days, but my doctor has already said that they are not enough for healing.

At this point all programs related to running have been cancelled. It's a shame because I was increasing my mileage and the speed considerably.

The wound 10 days after the fall

The uneven sidewalk

Now, during this period of rest and recovery, as schools are closed for the Christmas holidays, I enjoy the company of my grandson. Cannot wait for spending my time with the other 3 grandsons. Here are 2 photos taken in Tarquinia:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

  1. That’s a nasty fall - and you are not a young man any more. Make sure you are fully recovered before you start running again and listen to your doctor. In the meantime, spending time with your grandchildren seems terrific. All the best for 2024 - David

    1. Non devo aver fretta. Anche se la prognosi è di 20 giorni io ne attenderò 30 prima di ricominciare a correre: l'età si fa sentire!
Auguri anche a te e famiglia.

    1. It happened because I was at a crossroad so, to pay attention to the cars, I didn't check the sidewalk where I was running.

    1. Thank you. Here the roads and the sidewalks have many traps so it's possible to fall if we don't pay attention.

  18. Oh my goodness that you did not need. Your eyebrow will heal as will your rib, but the knee is not as easy for someone who enjoys running. Hopefully it is not something long term. I cycled a 80km race in South Africa with a broken rib, painful!!! but that would have been about 25 years ago. I did though break a rib again last year in the garden!! Please take care an look after yourself. Happy New Year and I wish you a healthy and fit 2024. Diane

  23. Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this! I cracked two ribs in 2017 falling over a dog while running. Good advice I was given was to take a few deep breaths every hour, even though it hurts, to make sure your lung doesn't get congested and infected. I wish you a good recovery.
