Running Update – At last the infection rate looks to be on the decline now and new races are on the official calendar. At the moment I have signed up for a 10 km in Ladispoli on march 20th and, after another test on tuesday, I will also sign up for the Orbetello Half Marathon on april 23rd. Both the races are on flat routes. I cannot wait for running another half, the last one was in september 2011.
This week I have run 4 times:
Tuesday: km. 10,8 (6,7 m);
Thursday: km. 10,2 (6,3 m);
Friday: km. 10 (6,2 m);
Today: km. 16,4 (10,2 m).
Naples - Last sunday I posted some photos of the Amalfi Coast. And now other 8 from the same Region (Campania). This is Naples.
Hi from Italy
Hi from USA. Love how the statue is laying on a couch looking at a pizza. 😂
ReplyDeleteThe statue is from Sansevero museum. You can see it here:https://www.museosansevero.it/en
DeleteCame back for another visit to see the photos. The architecture is amazing!
DeleteWe loved Naples. And who wouldn’t love that pizza?
ReplyDeleteNaples is a very beautiful city.
DeleteI get crazy for Pizza Margherita!
I've only been to Naples, Florida, lol. It is beautiful too but definitely not like your Naples!!!
ReplyDeleteNice mileage for you this week--or do you say kilos? Anyway, I'm glad to see you planning for some races!
Thank you.
DeleteAnd I've only been to Naples, Italy!
We say "kilometraggio".
hi from new jersey!! i have never visited naples so i really enjoy seeing your pictures. i'm glad you have been sharing them!!
ReplyDeletei have, however, eaten a lot of pizza and that one looks amazing!!
That pizza is the famous Pizza Margherita cooked in Naples for the first time in 1889 to pay homage to the Queen Margherita.
DeleteOooh, that pizza! As always, I love seeing all your amazing pictures...such beautiful places! I bet it feels good to have some races on the calendar ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you. I love to eat that kind of Pizza (Pizza Margherita).
DeleteYou are right, now I have an extra incentive to run.

ReplyDeleteThank you. I agree, Naples is a very beautiful city.
DeleteGlad you like pizza.
Ooo, pizza!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your gorgeous photos of Naples, Black Knight.
Happy Monday!
Pizza: with pasta is the most famous Italian dish.
DeleteHave a nice day.
Beautiful again!!! Here they just build new, new, new.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, San Gimignano, a pizza (well it was but a slice) just like that - heaven!
And here it's the same: they build, build, build!
DeleteSan Gimignano, Tuscany: what a wonderful town!
Over 10 years since your last half-marathon, Stefano! Good that you get to do one in April. I'm looking forward to reading your race recap.
ReplyDeleteWhat will your longest training run be in preparation for the race?
In this latest years for a reason or another I didn't succeed in making long distance runs.
DeleteThe plan is a long run every Sunday, increasing step by step the distance: in march 18/22 km and in April 22/23 km. Of course 2 weeks of tapering before the race.
I visited Naples when I was twenty, many, many years ago, and thought it was a wonderful, vibrant city. The food was fabulous! Great to see you running again. Good luck with the upcoming races. I have no doubt you will do well.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I keep on running 4 days per week.
DeleteI like Naples and its atmosphere. And yes, the food is fabulous.
My wife's grandfather was born in Naples. We haven't visited yet but will in the future. The pizza looks great. Glad to hear you will be able to run again in an organized running event. Have a wonderful new week.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteWhen you will come to visit Italy .... ring the bell!!!! We could eat that pizza with our families.

Thank you. I am glad you like to see a bit of Italy.
DeleteCan't wait to hear about your races, I think it's wonderful to get right back to doing what you enjoy...The city is amazing you can tell it's ancient. That pizza looks awesome!! Im curious about the big round metallic building in the 3rd photo. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you. The round metallic building is the Umberto I Gallery. Have a look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galleria_Umberto_I
DeleteThat pizza is the famous Pizza Margherita cooked in Naples for the first time in 1889 to pay homage to the Queen Margherita.
Have a good week!
Visiting Italy, especially Naples, is on my bucket list and these photos just make me want to visit there even more! Love the photo of the pizza too!
ReplyDeleteI hope one day you will be able to visit Italy and to eat a good pizza like that (and not only, the Italian food is famous all over the world).
DeleteThat would be so amazing is you were able to do the half marathon! Also, I am so loving your photos from Naples. This is definitely a part of Italy I would love to visit someday.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I will try to do it.
DeleteOften the dreams come true and I am sure that in the next future you will be able to visit Italy.
My husband's grandparents immigrated to the United States from Naples, Italy. Tomorrow is my husband's birthday and I'm making his favorite dinner, his grandmother's recipe for beef braciola. He has visited Naples, but I've only been to Rome, Florence, and a few small towns in Tuscany.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that your grandparents are countrymen of mine.
DeleteHappy birthday to your husband and enjoy the braciola!
Rome and Florence are wonderful cities and the ancient small towns in Tuscany are very scenic.
That pizza looks amazing! Sorry, I got a little distracted. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that races are opening up again! I know that will make you happy.
I get crazy for Pizza Margherita and Coca Cola!
DeleteYou are right, now I have a goal and I am happy.
My apologies I don't get on the blog much. Work has been busy, as is life in general, I guess. The photos with the town in the mountains and the ocean (sea) below is just stunning. I've heard Naples is just gorgeous and your pictures do it justice! I'm excited you are racing more and even a half in 10 years! Races are opening up here - pretty much everything is open now. I still wear a mask in the stores; but some do and some don't. I sure hope we're on the right path now to get this thing outta here!
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to apologize, the life is so hectic!
DeleteThe mountain above the city is the famous volcano Vesuvius which destroyed the city of Pompeii in 79 after Christ.
Do you have planned to enter any races?
We must wear the mask in the stores again. This is a never ending story....
aww... wonderful photos and delicious food...
ReplyDeleteGood luck for your race....
Thank you. Have a nice week end.
Deletehave a wonderful day
DeleteHello,

DeleteSaluti.
Nice pictures. Congrats on getting to sign up for the 2 races. It's exciting to see numbers declining and boy do I hope that continues. Pizza looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteOh yes, numbers are declining but I am in the bed for a bronchitis!
When I get well I will go to eat a pizza like that! I have a pizzeria just in front of my house.
Hope the running is going well. Thought I'd pop in as I do some blog walking today from my travel blog. Thought you might enjoy it. Keep up with the training.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Unfortunately the things go wrong and I am again sick at home.
DeleteYour travel blog is very interesting and full of beautiful pics.
Glad to know that you visited Italy, will you come back here in the next future?
Sorry to hear you've been under the weather and hope you feel better by now. Yes, we truly hope to return to Italy. I liked Spain, and Ireland, and Scotland was ok, but Italy....oh how we loved it.
DeleteHola, espero que pronto te recuperes y puedas volver hacer tus carreras.
ReplyDeleteQue te mejores.
Saludos
Grazie per il commento. Purtroppo a causa di un infortunio ho subito lo schiacciamento di una vertebra che limita i miei movimenti e provoca dolore. Sto facendo una forte cura antinfiammatoria.

Making blog rounds today, so I'ld pop in to say hi, and hope you're well.
ReplyDeleteMaking blog rounds on this cold sorta snowy Sunday, hope you're feeling better.
