Running Update - This week I have run 3 times increasing speed and distance thanks to the good weather: sunny and not so cold. Moreover the little pains are disappearing because I am wearing larger running shoes and I am making stretching sessions for the piriformis.
Tuesday: km. 11,5 (7,1 m);
Thursday: km. 12,4 (7,7 m);
Saturday: km. 15,1 (9,4 m).
No races in the near future because around here all the events are cancelled for covid.
Critters - Turtles and ducks enjoy the sunny morning in the park.
Anguillara – Some photos of another beautiful place near my hometown. This is Anguillara by the Bracciano lake.
Cavaliere Nero = Black Knight |
Running top ten playlist - This is my personal top ten:
1. When tomorrow comes – Eurythmics (1986);
2. Go your own way – Fleetwood Mac (1977);
3. Confusion – Electric Light Orchestra (1979);
4. Proud Mary – Status Quo (Creedence Clearwater Revival’s cover);
5. Moonlight shadow - Mike Oldfield (1983);
6. Atomic – Blondie (1980);
7. Juliet – Robin Gibb (1983);
8. Born to run – Bruce Springsteen (1975);
9. And we run – Within Temptation (2014);
10. I want my tears back – Nightwish (2011).
Of course this is just a fun because there are hundreds of other great songs.
Which is your favorite all time song?
Great to see you running again in comfortable shoes! I am sure that makes a huge difference. What a lovely part of the world you live in. All the best from Canada. David
ReplyDeleteThank you. In the region where I live there are some lakes with beautiful ancient towns to visit and .... not only Rome.
DeleteHave a good Sunday.
Oh, this such great news! Glad you are feeling better and running again. Now don't overdo it, lol. I'm jealous of that beautiful weather and seascape. And you and I have a lot of the same music on our playlists--it can't be because we are old, right?
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Thank you. I improve my workouts step by step, I am not in hurry.
DeleteOr maybe the music of our time was better?
Happy Running News There BLK Knight - Most Righteous Photos - Classic Playlist - Stay Strong And Keep Dancing Like Nobody Is Watching
ReplyDeleteCheers
Indeed I never dance, I only like to listen music.
DeleteHave a good week ahead.
Yay for larger running shoes! So great to see some improvement, Stefano!
ReplyDeleteGreat songs. I am missing your favourite all-time song “More than this” by Roxy Music! ;-)
Just the other day we were watching a show of a Swiss couple moving to the Toscana region to run an Agriturismo. It struck me how well Italian women dress. They always look so elegant.
I don't consider "More than this" a song for running. In my opinion Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry have to be listened quietly in the evening, in front of a fireplace, sipping a drink.
DeleteI love Toscana, in such region you can find everything you like: nature, art, cities, hamlets, special food, beaches ecc.
Glad you're doing well! A favourite running track would be My Way by the Sex Pistols - I once had that come on at the end of a long run and when it got into the really loud bit I was running fast and smiling so much!
ReplyDeleteGood music helps to run better and faster!
DeleteSome years ago I used to run while listening music but I stopped to do it because otherwise I didn't hear the cars coming.
Yes, indeed, I only listen to quiet music when I'm walking a fair distance, not for running now!
DeleteWearing a running shoe half a size bigger makes a big difference. I know!!
ReplyDeleteNot a speck of snow there. Nice!!! Lovely places to visit.
Proud Mary is a favourite. Tina Turner comes to mind, but I liked this version too.
Now I have learned the lesson about the shoes!
DeleteHere snow is only on the hills around the city.
Tina Turner's version is very beautiful too.
Glad the new running shoes have been a big improvement for you. Beautiful photos and I like your playlist. Aqualung by Jethro Tull would be on my list.
ReplyDeleteJethro Tull, great memories of my youth. They are one of my favorite bands and Ian Anderson with his flute is fabulous!
DeleteBeautiful photos! It is gorgeous there. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteIt does look like you are having some beautiful weather for running! Enjoy that while it lasts. Nice week for you
ReplyDelete... and today rainy and windy. The forecasts for tomorrow are "sunny".
DeleteHowever here it's rare to skip the workouts due to bad weather.
Good mileage on the runs, I admire that! Glad your feet are happy now too...I haven't added a song to my "love list' since 1985 so all these you are listening to are some of my favs. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteMy love list is very ancient too. My favorite is the music of the 70s.
Have a good week.
Me encantan las fotos y la música. Me alegro que estés mejor y corriendo. Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteThank you. Have a great day.
DeleteMy all time favorite running song is "Long Way to the Top if You Wanna Rock and Roll" by AC/DC. I love my classic rock! As always, thanks for sharing more photos! I love seeing all the sights of your locale ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome.
DeleteThe AC/DC are a great band.
My favorite AC/DC songs are "Shoot to thrill" and "Hell bells".
I'm glad to hear you're feeling good... and you had a nice "long" run in there (9.4 miles!)
ReplyDeleteAnguillara looks beautiful! I love the photos of so many different places. You live in a fascinating area.
I like to listen to podcasts while I run, but last week I listened to music which I haven't done in a long time- it was fun! I don't wear headphones when it's dark though.
Thank you.
DeleteThe area between the provinces of Roma and Viterbo is full of beautiful places to visit. Most of them are very relaxing and with good local food.
Music helps to run but can be dangerous.
It looks beautiful there! I'm glad you're feeling well enough to take advantage of the good weather. How nice to have a pub named after you! ;) That looks like a great playlist!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, I am too famous!!!!!!
DeleteYour corner of the world is beautiful, Black Knight.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better and running again.
Thank you. Running for me is a cure for mind and body.
DeleteWow! Those photos are so beautiful and you can't beat the nice weather too.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Today wind from north but sunny.
DeleteGlad to hear you aches nd pains are disappearing.
ReplyDeleteOldies but goodies - a great playlist. Love Fleetwood Mac.
Thank you. Oldies because .... I am old.
DeleteI like Fleetwood Mac too but I have never been able to go to their live exhibitions.
That’s a great playlist & as always great photos.
ReplyDeleteThe turtles remind me of what used to be known as Town Lake, where you could often see turtles sunning, when I lived in TX.
The turtles are nice animals too. They are not afraid of people and come close to us when we feed them.
DeleteI am so glad to hear the adjustments you made to the shoes and stretches are helping you run more. Now with better weather coming soon, hopefully you will be able to make some good progress.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, good weather helps to improve the performances. The only problem is that all the races in February are cancelled for covid.
DeleteWonderful lake and the perfect sign for you :-)
ReplyDeleteI didn´t need the translation, LOL. When we were in Tuscany my little Niece was still a baby and they had baby food I was tempting to buy... "cavallo".
I did not, because my big Niece would´ve killed me, she loves horses in another way, LOL.
I never dare to walk atound with music as you cannot hear if someone tries to attack you, but certainly if I´d dare it would be #2!!!!
Forrest Gump as he ran through his country, wonderful movie.
All time? Too many to decide! Sweet Home Alabama? One Vision?... (because of the "fried chicken" at the end :-)..)
Yes, the Black Knight is famous everywhere!!!
DeleteDo you also speak Italian? Indeed I see in your posts many Italian words.
Cavallo ... maybe a cat is better but only for the different size.
Forrest Gump a great movie.
I also love the song Sweet Home Alabama and I like the Lynyrd Skynyrd music.
Great post and wondeful choice of music, I like Born to run of Bruce springsteen and Moonlight shadow of Mike oldfield.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am glad we think alike about those 2 songs.
DeleteSpotted you on a mutual friends blog and thought I'd pop over to say hi. It's always fun to meet new bloggers. Good luck with your running. I'm a walker, not a runner. When we travel sometimes I'm able to rent a bike and enjoy pedaling. Awesome pictures of the wild life etc.
ReplyDeletehank you for visiting my blog. And yes, it's a pleasure and fun to meet new bloggers.
DeleteGlad to know you like to walk and to ride.
When we travel and we are far from home, the bike is a good option to visit new places in a better way. Of course I do it running.
running 3 times a week seems like a good number...
ReplyDeletepretty landscapes and the mallard has a bright beautiful green!!
that's a great play list...my favorite is anything by bruce and elo, a blast from the past, i saw them in concert several times!! love anything fleetwood mac
Thank you.
DeleteI saw Bruce in concert 3 times in Rome. More than 2 hours of great music.
Unfortunately I have never had the opportunity to see Elo and Fleetwood Mac.
glad to hear that there is improvement in your running...
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing beautiful photos... love all.
# I am following you
Thank you.
DeleteAnd your blog is on my "blog list".
You're getting some good runs in - that's great to hear!
ReplyDeleteAnguillara is a beautiful town! Thank you for sharing your pictures.
Good runs but unfortunately there are not races in the near future: cancelled for Covid.
DeleteThese little towns by the lake are similar but beautiful and relaxing.
The water looks refreshing!
ReplyDeleteAll time favorite song. Hmm....Jukebox Hero by Foreigner. There's others, though. Billy Squier. Johnny Cash. Joshua Aaron.
I like the Foreigner and Johnny Cash.
DeleteI don't know Billy Squier and Joshua Aaron but I will listen their songs very soon.
Have a great week end.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI like your playlist. I am glad you are able to go out running now, with no pain. Keep those feet happy. Great sighting of the turtles and ducks. The views of the lake and town. Take care, enjoy your weekend!
Thank you. Now that the weather is improving I will come back to visit the beautiful towns around my city.
DeleteHave a wonderful week end!
