Why Black Knight

The name Black Knight comes from this famous joke in roman slang. A man tells this story:
The Black Knight and the White Knight make a duel and the Black Knight kills the White Knight. Now the White Knight had 3 sons, they challenge the Black Knight to a duel and the Black Knight kills all of them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 9 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills of all them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 27 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills all of them.
Please stop the story, what do you mean, what is the moral?
The moral is: "Don't piss off the Black Knight"!!!!!!!!!

Marta

As every week, the running update and the sharing of some photos of characteristic towns in Tuscia (province of Viterbo, Lazio region) continues.

Marta - This week I post some photos of Marta, a beautiful place, by the Bolsena lake. The town has Etruscan and medieval origins and we can see again ancient buildings.
It has a beautiful lakefront where we can meet many runners who make their workouts. This is my favorite  route when I go there to spend a week end.

Running update: As in June, I don't care of my pace because the heat and the humidity don't allow to do good and long runs. Here is my running week (in early morning):
Monday: 9,7 km mainly flat;
Wednesday: 9,7 km mainly flat;
Friday: 10,7 km hilly;
Sunday: 10,6 km ondulate.
The first 3 workouts were good and relaxing, the last one a real "nightmare", I felt weak and my pace was 6:50/km (11:00/m)!

How is the weather? Is the heat affecting your runs?

                                         HAVE A GOOD SUNDAY

  1. Marta looks lovely!
    You had a great week with 40k. Do you do some strength work besides running?
    Here in Zurich, we are having a very cool and rainy summer. Right now it's raining again. So no - fortunately we don't have to deal with heat at all. At least for now!

    1. Cannot do anymore strength work after the incident I had in 2016 (broken shoulder where now I have a prosthesis inside).
      Remembering good time spent in Zurich some years ago without the heat!

  2. Great photos, I love the clock tower. It has been rainy here and humid so I haven't done much walking. I hate the humidity, makes you feel awful.

    1. I don't mind the rain but heat and humidity are a real problem.
      The only (partial) solution is walking/running in early morning.

  3. What a beautiful place to run. As always, your photos remind me of how 'new' the US is compared to Europe. Stay cool!

    1. I will come back to Marta at the end of July.
      USA are "new" but very beautiful. I visited your Country 2 times many years ago (1999 and 2000).

  4. Wow, so pretty there! One of these days I will take a trip there. It's a hot day here, but perfect for hanging out at our pool so no complaints from me!

  6. Love your photos! I've been to Italy, but only Milan and Rome. Maybe someday I'll get back there and see some of the beautiful countryside.
    It's almost always hot where I live (Florida) so I'm used to it!

      I visited USA twice but I never come to Florida even if it is in my wishing list.

    1. All the towns in that part of Italy are similar with Etruscan and medieval heritage.

  9. You are still running a lot more than me! The photos of Marta are beautiful -- thank you for sharing them with us.

    Heat & humidity definitely effect my pace. Our weather goes back & forth between that and cooler weather, which makes it impossible to acclimate to anything.
