Blera - This week I post some photos of Blera, another town in Tuscia, that stands on a tuff hill and the houses of the most ancient part of it are also built with tuff bricks. The narrow streets with pavement in cobblestones remind the etruscan origins of Blera. The atmosphere is quiet and it seems to live in another dimension, in another era.
When I go there I enjoy spending my time sitting with a drink and watching the landscape around me and under the hill.
Running Update: I keep on running every other day trying to maintain the mileage of every single workout at about 10 km without worrying of the speed. To go faster I prefer to wait for the end of this period where humidity and heat rule.
Tuesday: 9,7 km mainly flat;
Thursday: 10,6 km hilly;
Saturday: 11,2 km ondulate from the beach to my house.
What is your weekly mileage? Are you doing speed works in this period?
Have a good Sunday
What a lovely place to explore!!! Makes me want to visit Italy. Of course, I always want to visit Italy, lol.
ReplyDelete10k is my running sweet spot! I can't wait to get back to it.
...and I would like to come back to visit USA!
DeleteGet well soon and come back to run!!!!!!
What a lovely place - thank you for sharing all these beautiful views, it does help those of us stuck in an Edwardian suburb of a modern city!
ReplyDeleteI am doing about 22-28 miles a week, which suits me mentally and physically. I'm training for a half-marathon so trying to do at least one run without pauses for photographs and to deal with hay fever and one tempo or speedwork run per week.
Good luck in the football tonight!
I always see your wonderful photos on fb. You live in a beautiful place too.
Delete22-28 miles is a good mileage. When will you participate in the half?
This distance is on my wishing list. I ran my last half 10 years ago!!!!
... and good luck to England too!
The half isn't until October so we're just gradually building our resilience at the moment.
DeleteBeautiful views of Biera. I love the narrow streets around the town. Good to see you are running again without any issues. Enjoy the new week and good vibes for another successful running week.
ReplyDeleteThank you but the running week has begun in a bad way: I went to run with only 4 hours of sleeping because the football supporters made a lot of noise (screaming and with trumpet) until 02:00 a.m.

ReplyDeleteCheers
Thank you! I don't give up!
DeleteBeautiful pictures as always. I thought of you when Italy won the football! I'll bet it was crazy there!
ReplyDeleteEven if I am not a football fan I am happy that Italy won.
DeleteYes, here people got crazy, they celebrated until dawn. I didn't succeed in sleeping until 02.00 a.m. because of the screaming and the trumpets.
Thank you for giving me a tiny taste of Italy...looks so beautiful!! 10K is pretty much my maximum mileage on runs (except for my weekend long runs). I simply don’t have the time to run further (or the “need” to) on the week days. My weekly mileage is pretty conservative in comparison to a lot of others... I average around 20-24 miles/week, but that varies depending on the season or race schedule.
ReplyDelete20-24 miles/week is a good mileage to stay fit and to maintain speed and distance. In this way you are always ready to start any running program (also the marathon),
DeleteAh, Blera! I really need to travel south again.
ReplyDeleteI like your running regime with 10k as a minimum, Stefano.
10k is a great distance and perfect for a daily workout.
Do you usually run alone?
To travel south is a good idea for tourism and for some scenic running races in those places.
DeleteYes, I usually run alone because my friends' group do their workouts in late afternoon while I prefer early morning.
I love following along with all of your beautiful running routes and photos! This looks like yet another lovely route!
ReplyDeleteIn Blera the running route is a trail around the town: very scenic even if not easy.
DeleteSo lovely! Again thank you for sharing. My mileage has been steadily dropping due to family matters. I just do what I can when I can. Good thing I wasn’t training for anything anyway!
ReplyDeleteAnd now I also do what I can when I can. Better times will come.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to explore! Lovely photos and town!
Take care, enjoy your day!
Thank you.
Delete... and good food and wine (but I am teetotal) to taste.
