Covid: I finally recovered from Covid but it was hard, I had fever, sore throat, cough and weakness. The treatment consisted of anti-inflammatories, mucolytics and food supplements.
This week I started to run again. The workouts were slow but the feeling is positive.
Unfortunately I missed last Sunday's race characterized by breathtaking climbs that I had carefully prepared and I will certainly not return to racing before the second half of December.
October 2023: only 9 training sessions for a total of 100.6 km (62,5 m);
October 1977 memories: I joined the Coast Guard:
October 1999 memories: Urbs Mundi half marathon through a spectacular route in the historic center of Rome:
I wonder if being an athlete helped you recover. I mean, that kind of lung strength and everything from running. Anyway, glad to see you are back and kicking!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThe doctor told that my healthy life helped to recover soon.
I'm glad to hear you are on the mend. I had Covid last year and it took me a while to regain my fitness!
ReplyDeleteIt is said that now Covid is less strong than last year.
DeleteI am glad that you have recovered from COVID. I am sure it was an entirely unpleasant experience, but perhaps your athletic conditioning will aid in the recovery. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThe worst experience was the terrible painful sore throat.
Good progress with the running considering you are in recovery mode from not being well! I think that just goes to show the great fitness level and good health you already have as a base.
ReplyDeleteBut I need not less than 3 weeks of training before coming back to my previous status.
DeleteBravo cavaliere, fargliela vedere a quel minchione del covid! 👏
ReplyDeleteIn bocca al lupo e buon weekend!
Grazie e buon week end anche a te.
DeleteIl problema è che ha vinto il covid per k.o.!
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear you had the dreaded COVID, but it is great your are recovered and are feeling better to run again. Take care, have a wonderful day and happy new week!
Thank you. I need time for a complete recovery but I think positive. Have a good week end.
Delete100km in a month where you were ill is fabulous! I'm glad you have some other races lined up in December. By then, I'm sure you will be fit enough again.
ReplyDeleteThat photo from 1977 looks like from 1877!
1977: 46 years ago. Another era!
DeleteI miss that time. The period in the Coast Guard was great.
We are friends again and sometimes we organize meetings to spend some hours or one day together.
Glad you have rcovered from covid. Now you can get back to doing the things you enjoy and love. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou are right but I must be careful, I cannot risk injures or illness. Have a great week end you too.
DeleteGlad you are finished with Covid. It isn’t finished with us humans yet. Take it easy for a while and give yourself time to recover fully!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Of course I will follow your advice.
DeleteGood news on recovery. You live a very fit lifestyle. A good example for me.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I try to stay fit but it's not easy.
DeletePleased to know you have recovered from Covid. We do wonder and wish you well.
ReplyDeleteBeing healthy before must have helped.
Thank you.
DeleteMy doctor told the same: a correct lifestyle is very important.
Glad you are up again! See. I cancelled the Christmas-party out of fear of COVID before our great, long holiday.
ReplyDeleteTo health (and in your case: to running!).
I am sorry you had to cancel the Christmas party. Unfortunately covid is back even if lighter than before.
DeleteBoa tarde e bom inĂcio de semana meu querido amigo. Fico feliz em saber que vocĂŞ está bem de saĂşde. Obrigado pela visita e comentário. Grande abraço carioca.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Have a good week.
DeleteSo happy and glad that you have recovered and are running again, Stefano!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
Thank you.
DeleteHave a good week.
I am so thankful that you are feeling better! Also, that was such a great photo you shared from when you were in the coast guard. Just standing on a large sailed ship is fun, but I am envious of your time spent out on the water!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteIndeed I spent more time in the port than on a boat. I was a dock-boatswain an my job was to allocate moorings for ships and control the maneuvers in the port.
Oh so sorry to read you were under weather again. Covid does seem to get us all eventually. What a bummer to have to miss your race. Sounds like you are feeling better and back to running. Hope you have a good week ahead. Be well!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteYes, now I feel better and I can run again but I need not less than 2 weeks before being able of running as before of covid.
I'm so sorry you had Covid. Not fun at all. Returning to running is challenging on the lungs but I have no doubt you will get there. You are strong!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteYes, it's not easy to recover the strength but I'm on the road again and I'm improving day after day.
Boa tarde de quarta-feira com muita paz e saúde meu querido amigo. Tenha uma excelente recuperação de saúde.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Have a good week end.
DeleteOh no, we just can't be free of Covid. Sorry to hear you had it, but glad you're feeling better now. It takes a lot from you, so working back into your exercise routine, may take some time. Don't over due. I just got the latest shot about a month ago.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately Covid is back even if lighter than before.
DeleteI will not get anymore shots, after the last one I had a lot of problems included tinnitus.
I happy to hear that you're recovering from Covid and on the mend. I hope you feel back to 100% soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteEven if slowly I am recovering.
Such a huge progress!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteMaking blog rounds and waving hi. Hope things are good with you, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteHi, everything o.k. thank you.
DeleteHave a good week end.
It's good to hear that you're feeling better after having Covid. What a bummer that you had to miss the race you'd trained so hard for - next year!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Now I feel better and on December 3rd I will come back to race.
DeleteWaving hi as I make my blog rounds. Hope your well and can enjoy the holidays.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the visit.
DeleteHave a good week end.
Have a nice day :D
ReplyDeleteThank you.
