Why Black Knight

The name Black Knight comes from this famous joke in roman slang. A man tells this story:
The Black Knight and the White Knight make a duel and the Black Knight kills the White Knight. Now the White Knight had 3 sons, they challenge the Black Knight to a duel and the Black Knight kills all of them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 9 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills of all them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 27 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills all of them.
Please stop the story, what do you mean, what is the moral?
The moral is: "Don't piss off the Black Knight"!!!!!!!!!

Rain!

Running Update - And finally it rained!!!! We had 2 days of rain, Friday and Saturday, which brought cooler temperatures even though the forecasts say that the heat will return tomorrow. This short change in weather allowed me to train better, running a bit faster and making me feel much less tired at the end of the runs.

In the meantime, my son Paolo (44) is coming back to run regularly.

Last week I succeeded in running every other day:

Tuesday: 10.7 km;

Thursday: 10.6 km with my son;

Saturday: 9.7 km by the lake.

Just after the rain - The lake is beyond the trees

Village festivals. With my wife we spent last weekend at Bolsena Lake where, in many neighboring towns, there were Village festivals where it’s possible to taste local food and to make shopping at the street markets.

We went to Arlena di Castro at the Lombrichello festival (typical water and flour pasta from the upper Tuscia) and in Capodimonte at the Mussel festival even if I don’t like sea food. Then at night, still in Capodimonte, we enjoyed an ice cream by the lake enjoying the view of the hamlet lights.

  1. Rain! So happy for you! We will get some warmer weather here in Switzerland too. The last 4 weeks have been very rainy, but I'm not complaining.
    I didn't know about ombrichello pasta - I learned something new!

  4. Thanks for the visit and the kind comment. We have also had a little rain but the garden is still so very dry. It looks like temperatures are going to climb again this week.

  9. That's great news that you finally got some rain. It does make running more pleasant. Some of our towns are beginning to have their festivals now too, August and September are usually the time period for them. Have a wonderful new week.

  10. Hooray for rain!!! I know we have been grateful to receive it here. In June we went for 30 days without rain and everything was very dry. Now it is much more normal here--green grass, etc. I have never heard of Ombrichello pasta and now I want some! How is it served?

    1. Lombrichello is a easy dish. This kind of pasta cooks in 5/8 minutes. The typical condiment is the sauce with mushrooms and sausage but you can dress them with the sauce you prefer (for example tomatoes).

  13. I have no doubt that you (and everyone else) were very happy to see the rain, and two days of it is enough to make a difference. I am sure that your run was enjoyable, and the local festivals seem enchanting. I used to eat mussels but in recent years have developed an allergic reaction to shellfish, so I stay away from them. Shrimp, crab and lobster are still okay though. I hope the weather remains a little cooler for you. All the best - David
