Cat and lizards: last week I had to rescue a baby lizard. It was not easy to get it out of my cat's mouth. He spends all his time sleeping under sunflowers, asking for food and chasing lizards.
Running update: in june I only ran 112,5 km (69,9 ml) in 11 workouts and no races. The mileage was low because I had a stop of 10 days for a prostate inflammation.
Weekly recap:
Mon 10.7 km;
Wed 10.8 km;
Fri 10.7 km;
Sun 10.0 km.
Do you have a pet at home?
I hope the lizard survives. A cat’s mouth is a toxic brew of bacteria that may doom creatures safely extracted. In answer to your question, I have no pets at home - unless you count my pal the spider who often visits me when I am in my office!
ReplyDeleteI hope too.
DeleteSome years ago I have a similar pet at home, Ugo was his name. He spent all his life in our kitchen.
No lizards here, but I'm sure if we had them, my dog would find them. We have a lot of bunnies and squirrels, which she loves to chase but not to catch. She probably wouldn't know what to do with them if she caught one!
ReplyDeleteBunnies and squirrels are lovely animals. A couple of years ago a family of hedgehogs decided to live in my garden.
DeleteI can imagine that cats see lizards as the ideal toy! Glad you could rescue the little thing!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have pets - too complicated with our kind of lifestyle. But I do enjoy meeting other people's pets!
I would like to have a dog but my wife tells that it's complicated with the cats we have at home.
DeletePoor old lizard - well done for rescuing it!
ReplyDeleteAnd this is not the only rescue. The birds are also usual victims.
DeleteSono animaletti simpatici, vero?
ReplyDeleteCats like to chase and hunt smaller creatures. Glad that you were able to save the lizard.
ReplyDeleteWhen I can I always save lizards and other little creatures.
DeleteThe lizard looks exquisite! Look at the markings
ReplyDeletePoor lizard, she doesn't agree to become food for cats.
DeleteThe lizards are lucky to have you to rescue them. Cats are such great hunters!
ReplyDeleteMy cat spends his time sleeping and hunting.
DeleteNice looking lizard, you did well getting it out of your nice looking cats mouth.
ReplyDeleteWe did have 2 dogs but they died several years ago, and the loss of them was a very sad time for us.
Sorry for your loss. Pets become part of the family and it's very sad when they die.
DeleteUy que bueno que salvaste a la lagartija. Tu garo es muy lindo. Animo y sigue corriendo. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteMy cat says "hi" to you.
Awww, that little lizard is cute - I'm glad you rescued him from your cat! We have skinks here, both blue and red tailed ones.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a skink in my garden and in the parks around here.
DeleteOh, the poor lizard! None of them in my area. We have a dog, Max. He's not too interested in chasing other animals, but he gets a big attitude when he sees dogs that are bigger than he is, LOL.
ReplyDeleteGlad he's not interested in chasing other animals and however ..... the other dogs must learn who rules!
DeleteJune was not my best month for running or anything really. Here’s to hoping we both have a better month ahead!
ReplyDeleteHere is's too hot again, difficult to run faster or for longer distances.
DeleteOh no! Glad you were able to save the lizard. We have a dog but my sister has a cat that catches everything and brings it to the door for her. Not fun! Hope you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I feel better but this heat wave is killing us!!!!
DeleteThe cats are terrible hunters.
Glad you're back to running, but not over doing. Creepy crawly things like lizards give me the willies. I think your cat is doing a good job...perhaps you could loan him out to get rid of some of the chipmunks and rabbits in my yard that keep eating my flowers.
ReplyDeleteThank you, my wife says the same: "not over doing" but it's hard for a runner to slow down.
DeleteI will ask to my cat if he wants to work in your yard.
great job.... hope, lizard will survive...
ReplyDeleteI am sure she survived because I arrived just in time.
DeleteCat looks betrayed! đ
ReplyDeleteHe would love it here. We have tiny lizards darting around our deck from time to time. Largest is about four inches.
You are right, he didn't look very happy when I rescued the lizard.
