Why Black Knight

The name Black Knight comes from this famous joke in roman slang. A man tells this story:
The Black Knight and the White Knight make a duel and the Black Knight kills the White Knight. Now the White Knight had 3 sons, they challenge the Black Knight to a duel and the Black Knight kills all of them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 9 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills of all them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 27 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills all of them.
Please stop the story, what do you mean, what is the moral?
The moral is: "Don't piss off the Black Knight"!!!!!!!!!

Bolsena Lake

Last week I spent 3 days with my wife on Bolsena Lake.
On Friday we went to Capodimonte where we met old (Canadian geese) and new friends (a coypu).
I was concerned as the Canadian Geese had been missing for many months but now I am very happy because they have returned to join us: they are friendly and come to eat on our hands.

On Saturday we went to the beer festival in Farnese, a very ancient town that stands on a tufa rock and which, over time, has expanded around it. It is a very quiet and relaxing place in the middle of the green country with low buildings on a human scale.
Even if my wife and I don't drink beer we got to taste exquisite local food.

Sunday morning, after a 10 km run near the lake, which started at 06:30 a.m. due to the heat, I enjoyed a typical italian breakfast: cappuccino (milk and coffee) and cornetto (croissant).

Do you like to go to the village festivals?

And yes, I'd love to attend a village festival especially if it's Italian.

    Happy Monday, Stefano!

If a quarter counts as village then: Yes - I hope the Magni-Fest takes place this year!

I tried to read something about the Magni-Fest but I don't speak german and I only understood the date: Sept. 8 - 10.

  8. I didn't know what a coypu was! Thanks for the photo!
I love that village festival. We just had a city festival in Zurich last weekend. It wasn't the same like yours - far too busy and very crowded!

    1. If you come to Rome have a look on the Tevere river, you will see whole families of coypus.
I don't like the crowded village festivals too. I prefer the events in the little hamlets.

  9. It sounds like you had a lovely vacation in a beautiful location; and how lucky to be there during the festival!

The Canadian geese in our area are mean and just might chase you if you get too near them. Like Catrina mentioned above, I didn't know what a coypu was either. It looks similar to our groundhogs (land) or beavers (water).

    1. In Italy you can find coypus also in the rivers, for example in Rome and Florence. It is said that they are dangerous but I don't believe it.

  10. What lovely photos of the area.
Well I don't drink beer either but would be good to taste the food in that area.
I only like my coffee as a Cappuccino.

  11. That looks like a lovely place for a little get-away! Those Canada Geese are everywhere, they like to travel just like us. Local festivals are fun, right now in Calgary, Alberta, Canada the Calgary Stampede is taking place. You may have heard of it, people come from all over the world to take part and this year the attendance is record breaking.

I love to feed the Canadian geese, they are friendly.

  12. Thanks so much for the visit and the comment, very much appreciated. I am not quite so energetic as you though I do love all animals as well. I used to be an aerobics instructor and was very fit, but now turning 80 next month I use all my energy gardening!!!
Keep running as long as you can and stay fit. Happy weekend, Diane
