Last week I spent 3 days with my wife on Bolsena Lake.
On Friday we went to Capodimonte where we met old (Canadian geese) and new friends (a coypu).
I was concerned as the Canadian Geese had been missing for many months but now I am very happy because they have returned to join us: they are friendly and come to eat on our hands.
On Saturday we went to the beer festival in Farnese, a very ancient town that stands on a tufa rock and which, over time, has expanded around it. It is a very quiet and relaxing place in the middle of the green country with low buildings on a human scale.
Even if my wife and I don't drink beer we got to taste exquisite local food.
Sunday morning, after a 10 km run near the lake, which started at 06:30 a.m. due to the heat, I enjoyed a typical italian breakfast: cappuccino (milk and coffee) and cornetto (croissant).
Do you like to go to the village festivals?
What a beautiful spot. Glad those Canadians joined you too!
ReplyDeleteIn early morning the coast is full of canadian geese, later they spend their time on the water.
DeleteSounds like a fun festival!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I'd love to attend a village festival especially if it's Italian.
Happy Monday, Stefano!
Thank you, happy monday to you too.
DeleteYes it was a fun festival: music, good food, nice people and perfect location.
What a beautiful place and oh, yes, I would love to taste the food! (and the beer).
ReplyDeleteIf a quarter counts as village then: Yes - I hope the Magni-Fest takes place this year!
10km... I could never do that, running...
I am sure that if you want you can. No matter distance and pace.
DeleteI tried to read something about the Magni-Fest but I don't speak german and I only understood the date: Sept. 8 - 10.
What a beautiful place to visit. The festival sounds like fun and we always enjoy a good festival. We have one coming up in September. it's the Harvest Fair Festival and there is something there for everyone as the saying goes.
ReplyDeleteThese Photos Are Always Amazing There Mr Bill - Always Enjoy Visiting Brother BLK's Updates
DeleteCheers
Have fun at the Harvest Fair Festival and please share some photos.
DeleteThank you brother The Padre
DeleteThe festival sounds fun! I’m not a beer drinker either, but the cappuccino definitely would be a great substitute:-)
ReplyDeleteCappuccino and croissant are the usual Italian breakfast.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It was only a relaxing workout on a scenic route.
DeleteI didn't know what a coypu was! Thanks for the photo!
ReplyDeleteI love that village festival. We just had a city festival in Zurich last weekend. It wasn't the same like yours - far too busy and very crowded!
If you come to Rome have a look on the Tevere river, you will see whole families of coypus.
DeleteI don't like the crowded village festivals too. I prefer the events in the little hamlets.
It sounds like you had a lovely vacation in a beautiful location; and how lucky to be there during the festival!
ReplyDeleteThe Canadian geese in our area are mean and just might chase you if you get too near them. Like Catrina mentioned above, I didn't know what a coypu was either. It looks similar to our groundhogs (land) or beavers (water).
In Italy you can find coypus also in the rivers, for example in Rome and Florence. It is said that they are dangerous but I don't believe it.
DeleteWhat lovely photos of the area.
ReplyDeleteWell I don't drink beer either but would be good to taste the food in that area.
I only like my coffee as a Cappuccino.
The local food is the best!
DeleteThat looks like a lovely place for a little get-away! Those Canada Geese are everywhere, they like to travel just like us. Local festivals are fun, right now in Calgary, Alberta, Canada the Calgary Stampede is taking place. You may have heard of it, people come from all over the world to take part and this year the attendance is record breaking.
ReplyDeleteCalgary Stampede is very famous, I have heard of it but ... what a pity Canada is too far from here!
DeleteI love to feed the Canadian geese, they are friendly.
Thanks so much for the visit and the comment, very much appreciated. I am not quite so energetic as you though I do love all animals as well. I used to be an aerobics instructor and was very fit, but now turning 80 next month I use all my energy gardening!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep running as long as you can and stay fit. Happy weekend, Diane
PS forgot to add we have coypus all over the place here, I have never heard of them being dangerous!
DeleteSomeone say that they are dangerous because dig tunnels near the rivers. I don't believe they are dangerous.
DeleteThank you. I think that gardening is a tough exercise, I know how much it is challenging looking at my wife.
DeleteAerobics instructor is a very interesting job!
Have a happy week end you too.
lovely geese...
ReplyDeletewe have Canadian geese in our city too...
Thank you for sharing beautiful photos.
I see that Canadian geese are everywhere!
DeleteHave a good Sunday.
Hello,
ReplyDeletePretty captures of the geese. I love the view of the lake. I am sure the food was delicious. I hope you had a good run. Take care, have a wonderful week.
The local food was delicious and the location very beautiful.
DeleteThe route of the workout is scenic, it's a pleasure to run there.
Farnese looks like such a lovely town. I love the photos of the Canadian geese, too! I've seen a lot of those in California and Washington, and their loud honking sound is so funny!
