Running update - I don't remember a hot august like this. On these days the temperature is between 32° and 36° C. (89,6 and 96,8 F.). Running is very tough also in early morning. The problem in my tongue is not totally solved but I am improving, so I can do my workouts every other day: very slowly (about 6:30/km - 10:28 ml) and short (about 9 km - 5,6 ml). Better times will come when the heat has gone and I am completely healed.
I miss a lot the races, my last one was in may and I don't know yet when the next will be. Here is a photo taken in august 2011.
Not only running, today I have swam for the 4th time (2 in open sea and 2 in the lake): the arm hurts and the movement is not complete but I must come back to swim.
Pets - Below you can see my grandson Filippo and his best friend Nathan.
Hang in there, Stefano - the temperatures will turn before you know it.
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Filippo and Nathan is soooooo precious!
Nathan is the best friend of my grandsons. They spend a lot of time together.
DeleteOh My, What A Look!! This So Makes Me Smile.
ReplyDeleteMany Thanx,
Cheers
Thank you so much.
DeleteThey are inseparable.
oooooh a boy and his dog, how precious!!
ReplyDeletewe have had a pretty good summer thus far, cooler than most!! i could not even be outside in those temperatures you are getting, let alone run!!
i'm glad your mouth/tongue is healing, that is not a fun place to have pain!!
Both my grandsons spend most of their time with Nathan.
DeleteGlad you had a pretty good summer. This is the hottest summer that I remember.
It has been ridiculously hot everywhere! I fear for what winter will bring..
ReplyDeleteI am sure that in winter I will suffer less than in summer. Against the heat there is not defense.
DeleteI am holding out for the better weather too! Soon :)
ReplyDeleteMe too, I cannot wait!
DeleteWe have had very hot and humid weather here in Chicago where I live as well. Here is hoping for better weather for both of us! Glad you are still able to get some runs and swimming in. Hopefully you will be ready to race again soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I hope to race again in middle September.
DeleteI cannot wait until Fall season here so we can get some cooler temps!
ReplyDeleteMe too, better the cold weather (I mean the cold weather that we get here).
DeleteRaining and humid here. Summer has been different but we are getting closer to better cool weather. Glad you are taking it slow as you heal. A boy and a dog, a wonderful relationship.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.
And that boy is also friend of 2 cats.
DeleteI hope to find good weather in march when I will come to watch the rugby match Ireland - Italy.
Heat always makes running really difficult for me. I am not a big fan of it (even though I've done a lot of really hot races). I am sure that better times are ahead of you!
ReplyDeleteBoth Nathan & Fillipo are very cute. :)
Nathan and Filippo say "hi" to you!
DeleteI cannot wait for those better times.
Hoping you feel completely healed very soon. Your grandson is just too cute for words! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. At last I feel good.
DeleteGood photo! Here, the icy mornings continue, -5C or so. Looking forward to the warm days ahead.
ReplyDelete-5C is too cold! Warm is ok but here it's hot.
DeleteI am one of the rare ones who prefer the heat to the cold. Iowa's winters are brutal...
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine a brutal winter. Here winter is acceptable.
DeleteHello, it is hard to be active in the hot weather. I hope you feel better soon. Cute photo of your grandson and his dog. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteYes, too hard! Thank you. Happy week end to you too.
DeleteDon't worry, weather everywhere will be cooler in September... because that's my marathon. So it better!!!!! Doggie picture is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the marathon. Cannot wait for the recap.
