The Black Knight Army Tribute - Yesterday night Mark Knopfler was so kind to come to Rome, in the picturesque and historical location of the Caracalla Baths, to pay homage to the Black Knight by a concert. Waiting for the Black Knight arrival there were thousands of people, the auditorium was sold out. But this is a normal situation when the Black Knight deigns to participate an event.
Since I am a modest person, I preferred not to go on stage otherwise the spectators would have acclaimed me only, while I wanted to leave some applause also for Marc.
However it was a very beautiful concert 2 hours long and Marc Knopfler performed in a perfect way. Great artist with a great band.
Running: the show must go on – It’s not easy to run in this season but I make my usual workouts reminding myself to slow down.
Now my favorite routes are 2; the first is in my city where I run from house to the beach: 11 km ondulated, half on a busy national road and half through the country. The problem is that the Municipality removed the fountain at half way so I can drink only at the end. The second is by the lake where I usually spend the week end.
In both the situations I go out at 06.30 a.m. when the sun is not high in the sky. At the moment I don’t think at upcoming races, I wait for better times (weather). Maybe the next will be on Sept. 8th, 10 km inside the natural oasis of Castel di Guido, where many breeds of birds live in their natural habitat.
Loving the nature – My cats. These are the 2 lovely cats who own the house and the garden where I live with my wife.
I introduce you Allegra while testing my mattress, while making a difficult puzzle and while trying to wear my shoes:
Below there is the “king of the garden” while checking my dress before going to the ceremony of the 134° anniversary of the Italian Coast Guard.
Have a good week
Hello, the concert sounds nice, I like the colorful lights on the stage. Your cats are cute, the furbabies are kings/queen of their homes. Enjoy your day, wishing you a great new week!
ReplyDeleteThe furbabies rules here!
DeleteAt the moment I am the last, the cats are the n° 1, n° 2 the grandsons, n° 3 my son and my daughter, n° 4 my wife ..... and I.
How nice of Mark Knopfler to hold a concert in your honor! Lol! Glad you enjoyed it. I was at a concert last night, Chris Stapleton who is a country singer and incredible guitarist. It was outdoors and I was with my sons. Really, nothing is better than that!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the concert. I also love the country music. I live near Rome so I have the possibility to go to many concerts.
DeleteAh, I love your cats! Aren't they just gorgeous creatures?
ReplyDeleteVery unthoughtful of the municipality to remove your drinking fountain! :(
I'm thinking to hide, before the workout, a bottle of water in the place where the fountain was.
DeleteNo Way!!! Mark Knopfler is the grand prize for the KAFM raffle this year. Fantastic Post & Great Photos As Always.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Thank you so much.
DeleteKAFM looks like a wonderful radio.
I remember when, in early 70, at 08.30 p.m. we went home to listen our favorite radio broadcasting progressive music.
The concert sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteYes, 2 hours of great music.
DeleteThis is the 4th time that I go to a Mark Knopfler's concert.
I am waiting for cooler temps to sign up for a race as well. Sounds like a great time at the concert. Have a fantastic week ahead
ReplyDeleteGreat time at the concert and in that ancient and historyc part of Rome.
DeleteThe route of the Race of the Cure is near and around the Auditorium.
Your cats are beautiful! So glad they allow you and your wife to live in their house! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, they are very kind and I thank them every day.
DeleteA concert in your honor? Well, that's pretty incredible and majestic ;-) Cute cats...though I have a huge feline allergy, so my eyes are burning just seeing them through the screen LOL
ReplyDeleteA concert in my honor? This is normal, the Black Knight Army is famous all over the world.
DeleteSorry for your allergy.
What a beautiful venue for a concert! And beautiful cats, too. I miss having a cat in my life, even if life is easier without cats (and of course I still have the dogs).
ReplyDeleteToo bad more men's running clothes doesn't have pockets, so you could carry water with you when you run! I just can't run without some water.
And I miss having a dog in my life, however I walk my son's one (Nathan, a golden retriever).
DeleteSuch talented cats!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, and they know to have such talent!
DeleteI remember Mark when he played with Dire Straits, such a great guitarist. Glad you enjoyed the music. Your cats are pretty, I used to have a black cat years ago. Good luck solving your water spot problem since they removed the fountain.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day!
This is the 4th time that I go to a Mark Knopfler's concert in Rome. Always great music.
DeleteWater spot problem solved: I made the decision to change route.
Beautiful spot for a concert! So glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteThank you. In Rome many artists come so I have the possibility to go to many concerts.
Deletethe concert venue looks amazing. i couldn't tell if it were indoor or outdoors, but i think you said auditorium so it was probably indoors!! outdoor concerts are very popular here in the summer!! the lighting looks very nice, i am glad you enjoyed it!!
ReplyDeletethat's a beautiful black cat!!
It was outdoors in the middle of ancient roman monuments. Tha place is very close to the Coliseum, the Circus Maximus, the Roman Forum and the Capitolium. The heart of the ancient Rome.
DeleteMy black cat says "hi" to you.
The concert sounds amazing! Love "meeting" your cats, too! My son loves cats (just as much as he loves dogs). Happy weekend!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy cats say "Hi" to you and your son.
DeleteThat's so nice of you to let the performers have the spotlight for awhile. ;) It's also very nice of your cats to allow you in their garden and on their mattress! :D
ReplyDeleteMark Knopfler deserved the spotlight for a while......
DeleteMy cats are very kind and understand very well our needs.
