Sunday April 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. – km. 8,6
Piansano is a little town in Lazio Region, near the Bolsena Lake, with a population of 2.200.
I arrived alone in early morning at the reception desk of the organization and, after I have paied the bib (12 euros), they said that I couldn’t receive the “swag” because they didn’t have anymore. Well, we were only 87 at the start and they didn’t have enough “swags” for all the participants!!!!
Ok never mind I was there only to enjoy a morning of sport and the race atmosphere.
Of course, as I was alone, unfortunately I don't have any pic of the race. Besides there were not photographers along the way.
The path was ondulate and scenic: 7 km in the countryside and 1,6 terrible km through the streets of the town at the end. I have never seen a series of uphills, inside narrow streets, like those during a race!
Official stats: Finishing time 47:23; 73° of 87 overall.
Oh that's a bummer about them running out of swag for the race :( So sorry that happened.
ReplyDeleteI have been running since 1985 and it never happened before. In many races when the organization doesn't have anymore swag you pay less. And last but not least at the end of the race we received only water.
DeleteOn the one hand, you enjoyed the scenic running path through the countryside and the friendly atmosphere before the race. On the other hand, you didn't get the swag ... Not to mention of the uphills and the narrow alleys.
ReplyDeleteWith regards to the lack of pictures, I promise next time I will be your photographer, if it's needed :-)
The registration for the "Race for the cure", which will be held in Rome next month, will be ready soon ... this time you will not lose the swag :-)))
Thank you for the registration and for the kind offer to become the official photographer!!!!
DeleteWow, that is a really small race! Too bad they didn't have enough swag for everyone (was it good swag? It rarely is here!).
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a really lovely place to run, though!
Usually in little towns in the countryside like that the swag is rich: food, wine, oil ecc. However, yes, it is a lovely place to run.
DeleteCharming little town but running out of swag when you paid the full price is so wrong. Good for you for being a good sport about it. What else can you do?
ReplyDeleteNothing, only enjoying a good day of sport in a beautiful place.
DeletePity about the swag - I would have been really disappointed! Sounds like a great run anyway - well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Not a great run but I don't complain.
