Why Black Knight

The name Black Knight comes from this famous joke in roman slang. A man tells this story:
The Black Knight and the White Knight make a duel and the Black Knight kills the White Knight. Now the White Knight had 3 sons, they challenge the Black Knight to a duel and the Black Knight kills all of them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 9 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills of all them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 27 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills all of them.
Please stop the story, what do you mean, what is the moral?
The moral is: "Don't piss off the Black Knight"!!!!!!!!!

Bolsena Lake and another virtual 5K

The workouts are useful and nice because we stay healthy and fit and we enjoy the scenic routes. However I miss the competitions and the beautiful days spent in the towns where the running races are organized.
For this reason I made the decision to participate in a virtual 5k Parkrun every Saturday.
After 2 virtual races run near my hometown, yesterday I have run 5k by the Bolsena lake in Capodimonte.

I think that in the near future I will have to skip some virtual 5K to recover (Stefano is getting older).
This was my 3rd one in a row (I mean on saturday) and every time I am slower.
I ran the 1st in 26:36, the 2nd in 26:53 and the 3rd (yesterday) in 26:59.

Are you participating in any virtual run? Which is your favorite distance in this kind of race?

    1. The virtual runs are a good solution to keep us motivated. Other solutions are the scenic routes by the sea/lake or through the country.

  5. You probably know I have been doing the 5K's as well. While I am not "racing" them, I am trying to run them strong...like a tempo run of sorts. I had a couple of "slower" ones early on, but was improving each week until last Monday's run. Oh well...I'm not giving them up ;-) They have been my speedwork the past eight weeks.

    1. The 5k's are a good way to make the speedworks. In june I will try 1 or 2 10k too.

  6. Wow! You are speedy. And consistent. I did a series of virtual 5Ks in April. They were fun and gave me an excuse to run faster than I normally would in a training run but still not the same as a real race. I miss the competition and excitement.

    1. You are right the virtual are not the same as a real race. In the real we have more motivation and it's easy to be faster (the competition helps a lot).

  7. Great job on the virtual 5ks! It is hard to keep getting faster because we need more recovery time. It is so beautiful there! It's finally warming up here.

  8. The location looks very beautiful!! I'm doing a virtual distance race, but I'm in no shape for any speedwork soon, so I'm skipping the 5Ks for a while! I'm enjoying the downtime of not putting any time pressures on my running. For now :)
