Why Black Knight

The name Black Knight comes from this famous joke in roman slang. A man tells this story:
The Black Knight and the White Knight make a duel and the Black Knight kills the White Knight. Now the White Knight had 3 sons, they challenge the Black Knight to a duel and the Black Knight kills all of them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 9 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills of all them. Now they had 3 sons each and the 27 White Knights challenge the Black Knight to a duel but the Black Knight kills all of them.
Please stop the story, what do you mean, what is the moral?
The moral is: "Don't piss off the Black Knight"!!!!!!!!!

Running update and another hamlet

Injury update: With the help of the PT I learned to soothe the piriform pain with appropriate stretching. Now I only feel a bearable pain after 30/40 minutes of running. When I walk or when I stay home it disappears but only if I don’t miss the stretching sessions.

Running update: This week I have run 4 times:

Monday: 10,7 km (6,7 m);

Wednesday: 3,4 km (2,1 m). There was a light rain and I went to run but after 15 minutes the light rain became a rainstorm and I had to come back home;

Thursday: 10,3 km (6,4 m). At last this was the first day of fall weather. Now I can enjoy my runs!

Saturday: 13,1 km (8,1 m).

Tomorrow: Rest.

Rugby ground where my grandson 5 y.o. was playing

Leaves on the street: autumn is here!

While I was taking pictures of the leaves the camera "went off" by itself

Upcoming races (in person)

Nov. 7h: Orbetello - Run through the natural reserve - trail 10 km (to be confirmed);

Dec. 5th: Canino - Olive Oil Run - km. 10;

Dec. 8th: Orbetello - Christmas Run - km. 10 (to be confirmed).

 Any upcoming races?

    1. Thank you. All these hamlets are similar, built on a tuff spur with narrow streets in cobblestones.
      Have a good Sunday.

  2. I would love to have seen these ancient areas when they were new! Absolutely wonderful that you get to run through them on an ordinary day.

    1. These areas are very old, the first inhabitants were the Etruscan.
      When I am there I feel I'm living in the past.
      I can go there when I want because I'm retired and for this reason I have plenty of time.

  3. as i have said before, this is such a beautiful area. are the narrow streets built with cobblestone??

    everything is so different than where i live, in a typical new jersey suburb. although i am seeing a lot of leaves too!! good job on the runs, and it's good that you are having less pain!!

    1. I am sure that where you live there are beautiful areas too.
      Yes, the narrow streets are built with cobblestone: this is a peculiar feature of these ancient hamlets.

  4. Ah, so your grandson plays rugby too? Very cool.
    I'm excited about your upcoming races. I find races a great way to challenge yourself and to test your form.
    Great that the piriformis is getting better!

    1. I have 4 grandsons: 2 play football, 1 plays rugby and 1 was born in June.
      After 2 years of virtual races I cannot wait to enter a race in person!
      About the piriformis....I hope to solve the situation but I keep on running with the pain too.

    1. You're welcome. During the races there are many photographers who share the photos of the runners for free, so we can get many memories!

  6. Oh, streching is so boring. I need to do that, too - actually, but got a bit slack with it, buhuuu.
    Thank you for the reminder. Scoliosis and uneven hip, great combo, not...

    You don´t runin a rainstorm?! (kidding). You have some cam, I know, mine has a life on it´s own sometimes, too.

    I could never, ever run 10 km. I remember the 2 km when I was in school. 2, short break, 2 back. Puffed.

    Beautiful architecture again! To a nice Sunday with rest, same here.

    (And no, no races. Ingo really asked me if I wanna join the soldiers again for another 20km "walk". No.)

    1. Sorry you have some little problems (scoliosis ecc.), I hope that you can get well very very soon.
      Indeed, I don't mind to run under the rain but that was a strong rainstorm with lightning and thunder.
      I am sure that you, following an appropriate program, can easily run 10 km.
      Yes ... great idea: 20 km walking with the soldiers!!!!!

  7. What a beautiful area! I have a real race happening next weekend, had to do a long run in the week to make sure I could still do distance and it's apparently a hard race so not sure how that will go!

    2. It's a half marathon and a few people have told me it's a hard one! I'm doing it with my friend and her kid so hopefully it will be OK. I will indeed do a race report if I'm up to it!

  8. Hello,
    The October weather is nice for walking and running. Just being outside is nice. The run through the nature reserve sounds great. The Baltimore running festival was yesterday, I watched some it on the morning news. Love the views of the hamlets. Take care, enjoy your day! Have a happy new week!

  9. More wonderful pics, including the “selfie fail” (that wasn’t meant to be a selfie) :-) I have often thought about doing an “awkward selfie” blog post where I highlight sine of the failed attempts at getting the perfect shot or getting photobombed by random others.

      3 races but 2 have to be confirmed. The covid restrictions are the problem.
      And those 2 are the best: flat and with wonderful landscapes through the natural reserve and by the lagoon.

  15. Glad to hear the stretches are helping relieve the piriformis pain. Fall is here but it's still so warm and humid here. That race in 2015 has some beautiful scenery!
